The former journalist is Honorary President of the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases (FEDER), established in 1999.

The Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases aims to promote ‘the need to work with all those involved to promote access to diagnosis for those people who suffer from rare diseases’.

They help people who have contracted a disease from which fewer than five people in 10,000 suffer. In Spain alone there are more than three million people who meet the requirements.
