Kmart fans are obsessed with summer’s new “must-have” kitchen gadget, but not everyone is talking about it for the right reasons.
The $49 ice cream maker claims to create ice cream or soft gelato in just 30 minutes.
Buyer Kimi SandersA self-described “impatient little girl,” she decided to test the machine to see if it was worth buying.
He had looked at ice cream machines before, but the idea of ”waiting 24 hours” kept him from making the purchase every time.
‘This attracted me. The box basically says one-step operation, beautiful. Ice cream and sorbet in 30-40 minutes, perfection,” he said.
‘Detachable body for easy cleaning and produces 700ml, what’s not to love about that?’
However, a few moments later, she was left disappointed with her device after realizing an important step when she read the instructions.
“Apparently you have to freeze the container for 30 minutes,” he complained.
Kimi Sanders, who describes herself as an “impatient little one,” decided to take home the Insta-worthy machine
“I’ll freeze the bowl and cry and we’ll meet again tomorrow,” he said.
She continued making her ice cream with a mixture of sugar, cream and milk and kept it in the refrigerator overnight.
However, she was not satisfied with the results.
“I thought this would be done in 30 minutes,” he said.
The next day he went back to the machine to try to make the dessert again, less than 24 hours later.
He decided to start with 500 ml of the ice cream mixture because he couldn’t find the fill line inside the frozen container.
But when he started pouring the mixture, it came straight out of the spout.
“It’s been 40 minutes and it doesn’t seem to be getting any thicker,” he said over the loud hum of the machine before leaving it for 10 more minutes.
Although Kimi doubted it was “soft serve consistency,” he decided to give it a try.
The machine worked once she followed the instructions.
“I bought a waffle cone for the occasion.”
“I should probably try it in a container, but I’m not going to,” he said.
The ice cream did not go as planned, as there was liquid left in the cone.
“I let it continue churning for another 20 minutes or so and, if anything, it got worse,” he said.
He concluded that the machine was not worth it.
But after they asked her to try it again, this time following the instructions, she was delighted with the results.
She noted that she used double cream and froze the bowl for the full 24 hours the second time.
‘Oh my God, it worked. “It really worked,” she said excitedly. ‘Redemption.’
‘This time it was literally a can of peaches in syrup that I mixed and double cream. That’s all! It was incredible,’ he said.
But people seemed to object to the $49 machine.
“It looks like it will be 10 minutes before it turns into a landfill,” one man said.
“Forty minutes of that noise would drive me crazy,” said another.
“I’d rather take five minutes to go to McDonald’s to buy a soft cone.”
Others thanked him for saving them money.
‘I was looking at this, thanks for reviewing! “I’ll look elsewhere,” one said.
But some showed up to criticize the critic.
“It’s strange how it worked when you followed the instructions,” one man said.
A handful of people were excited to see that it had worked.
“Oh, I’ll have one now,” one woman said.
‘Thank you, buying it for my son now. You’ve saved me a lot of time at Maccas Drive Thru… and the headache of sorting it out,’ one woman said.
