Today, the pub’s popular character has even inspired a replica in Thailand for Brits looking for a little piece of home.
Nicknamed “Witherspoons,” it’s located in vacation hot spot Pattaya City, as reported by What’sTheJam.
Located on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, this popular city is known for its beaches, resort hotels, shopping malls and 24-hour clubs.

The meal includes two eggs any way you like, a sausage, bacon, toast, tomatoes and baked beans.
Boasting a fantastic 4.2 out of 5 rating on Google reviews, tourists who have made the trip to Thailand love paying the restaurant a visit.
The bar is also equipped with plenty of screens allowing punters to watch all their favorite sports.

British traveler Kelly Clarkson said: “I don’t like bars and drinking, but I had to try it. I watched a YouTube video about it so I tried it.
“I’m a solo traveler and female, I had to ask a waitress to help me. They definitely focus on men, there’s nothing wrong with that, but there are other people who should be recognized.
She added: “The food was divine. The crowd consists of the usual farangs (Caucasian visitors) and their long-term/short-term daughters.

‘Value for money. A good time nonetheless. There are pool tables and good music.
A local guide added: “Excellent sports bar with good staff and manager, specials are also very good.

It comes just after it was revealed that JD Wetherspoon’s profits have soared by more than £31 million in a year.
In a stunning jump in its finances, the company announced that its pre-tax profits rose almost eight-fold to £36m for the year to January, up from £4.6m of pounds sterling the previous year.
With the average price of a pint in the UK having risen to £4.80, it is believed that cash-strapped Brits are now turning to Spoons for a cheaper night out, instead of their local pubs – with Wetherspoon looking to increase its rooms from 814 to 1,000.
The alcohol chain giant’s total sales reached £991 million, an increase of 8.2 per cent, as more punters appear to be turning to the discount chain rather than local independents, where the price of an average pint has skyrocketed due to soaring costs.
