Tom said: ‘I’ve been playing Spider-Man for a decade. I was probably 19 and Civil War is about to come out or has already come out.
“So I knew I was Spider-Man, my family knew I was Spider-Man, but no one else knew I was Spider-Man.
‘So we have kids coming to the door and trick-or-treating, which is really exciting. The parents are standing in the driveway making sure the kids are safe and everything.
‘And we’re waiting for a kid like Spider-Man to show up. Finally someone does it and my dad calls me.
“And I think what I did wrong with this seven-year-old was that I was much more excited than he was.
“So he was there in this little Spider-Man suit and this cube and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, hey, Spider-Man, how are you doing?'”
And he was like ”woah woah”. To which I then said: ‘let’s take a photo’. And then the parents took a big step forward.
“And I had to say, ‘No, no, I’m the real Spider-Man.'” So the parents had to drag their son out of my house.

The new revelation comes as Tom revealed that Robert Downey Junior saved his career after his role in Avengers was axed.
Speaking on the Rich Roll podcast on Tuesday, he said: “When I did my (screen test), it was eight pages of dialogue. It was a long scene. It was great. “My agent told me to learn the lines exactly.
‘When I got to the set after getting the gig, my scene had scaled down significantly from what I did at the audition.
“Now it was maybe two pages, but Downey chimed in: ‘Where did all the kid’s lines go?'” Downey was the one who told them to use it.
Tom also revealed that he “cleaned out the minibar” the night before his first screen test with Downey and “Marvel found out about that.”
The actor has since given up alcohol and is now sober, launching his non-alcoholic beer brand Bero last week.
