Bryan Abasolo shared the text message he sent to Rachel Lindsay before filing for divorce last year.
Amid the estranged couple’s tense divorce battle, the 44-year-old chiropractor filed a new petition in which he denied ever filing for divorce before telling her so in an abrupt text message.
Earlier this year in January, it was revealed that Abasolo filed for divorce on December 31, 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences” and asking for spousal support.
Previously, The Bachelorette veteran, who was a contestant on season 21 of The Bachelor and starred in season 13 of the spin-off series, claimed she was “shocked” to learn that he officially applied via a text message he sent her as she was leaving his house.
“About 30 minutes after leaving the house, he sent me a text that simply said, ‘Hey… I just wanted to let you know that I officially applied,'” the reality TV personality, 39, claimed in a June 26 filing.

Despite knowing they were “separating and heading for divorce,” she said she was shocked and responded, “Wait, what?”
However, Abasolo denied her claims and hit back in a new filing, saying Lindsay, to whom he was married for four years, was actually not “surprised or shocked.”
She “failed to disclose” that he sent her a text message stating his intentions to take their separation to the “next step” and file for divorce, she said in new court documents obtained by People.
In the recent filing, he provided the text message he sent her, which read: ‘Rachel, coming into the bedroom because I didn’t respond to your text as per your timeline and then raising your voice for not getting the immediate response you want is the type of one-sided controlling aspect of our relationship that has led us to this point.’
The message continued: ‘My inability to communicate, as you have called it, is to prevent this type of reaction.
“I often feel like you should have what you want regardless of the mental state I’m in,” she added in her text message to Lindsay, according to the outlet.
“I’m sorry I didn’t respond to your message, but honestly, I don’t want to be the target of your words anymore,” she wrote. “I don’t want to be here any longer than necessary. I want to get some of my self-respect back.”
“Please keep future communications in writing (paper, email, text) to avoid any additional friction as we move to the next step,” the lengthy text continues.

“We can talk in the future in the presence of a neutral party or something,” the message concluded. “At the moment, I can’t do it. I haven’t been able to for a while. With all due respect. Good night.”
Abasolo also stated in his latest filing that Lindsay’s offer of nearly $10,000 in spousal support is not enough.
According to TMZ, she claimed she “needs more” than $9,882 each month as that doesn’t cover her expenses, which she added are “draining” her bank account.
She also said that the $10,000 a month is not enough to cover their standard of living for the duration of their marriage.

At the time, Lindsay broke her silence on the split during an episode of her Higher Learning Podcast, saying she “didn’t think she would be emotional.”

She shared with her podcast listeners, “First of all, I just want to say thank you to the people who reached out to me. I’m still trying to get back to people. You never know how big your circle is until you see all the people who reach out to you and love you.
“It’s obviously a difficult time, if you’ve read the headlines you’re probably wondering why I should be working,” he added.
“But to be honest with you, I need to distract myself from myself and the best way to do that is to do something I love, and I love higher education,” she continued.
She said she would share the reason behind the split “eventually,” adding that “now is not the time” as she is “just trying to take it day by day.”
