Sofia Vergara is ready for a Modern Family reboot.
The 52-year-old Colombian actress told Variety who thinks a one-off TV movie would be perfect.
“I would love to be on that set,” the brunette said during her cover story, which focused on Griselda. “It would be so much fun. A TV movie, maybe?”
And the actress has a running joke with her 78-year-old co-star Ed O’Neill about it.
After seeing him play LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling on the series Clipped, she told him, “You look fucking old.”
“I always joke with him,” he said, adding that he tells him, “Ed, don’t die. Because if we do the sequel, it will take some time, and you’re the oldest of us. You can’t be dead!”

Modern Family aired for 11 seasons, from September 23, 2009, to April 8, 2020.
It revolved around three different families living in Los Angeles who were connected through patriarch Jay Pritchett (O’Neill) and his two children, Claire (Bowen) and Mitchell (Ferguson).
The cast was seen together at the 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in February.
Sofia was joined on stage by O’Neill, as well as Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
At one point, Vergara promoted her Netflix series Griselda, but Stonestreet rebuked her, joking, “Jesse, pay up. I told you I’d mention it in the first 10 seconds.”
It all started while presenting the award, which their ABC show had won four times previously, and Burrell reflected on their series saying, “This really brings back memories.”
“Did you ever miss him?” Burrell asked his former co-stars.
And the actress has a running joke with her co-star Ed O’Neill, 78, about it. “I always joke with him,” she said, adding that she tells him: “Ed, don’t die. Because if we do the sequel, it’s going to take some time, and you’re the oldest of us. You can’t be dead!”
Her on-screen daughter Bowen replied: “Oh, of course we did, but of course we had a great time, 11 seasons, 250 episodes. Come on.”
She then became distracted by Gosling, laughing and pointing at him in the crowd: “It’s Ryan Gosling. Sorry,” before catching his train of thought: “250 episodes, that never happens.”
“It’s happened to me twice,” replied O’Neill, who played Al Bundy on the Fox sitcom Married…With Children (1987-97).

“Is it too early to talk about a restart?” Ferguson asked, before adding: “They made me park a mile from here.”

Bowen then mentioned Ferguson’s Broadway career, reminding him that he always said he wanted to return to his roots.
“That’s something that actors who haven’t been on hit shows say, right? There’s a reason the Tony Award is the last letter of the EGOT.”

As the crowd laughed, he continued, attacking the Gilded Age series: “I know! I know! I’m just kidding, Gilded Age cast. I’m just kidding.”
In 2022, Ferguson confirmed that a script had been written for a planned spin-off, but ABC ultimately scrapped the show.
“The script is out there and it’s very good,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “So, you know, who knows? If someone wants to produce it, maybe.”
The Modern Family cast, including Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez, Eric and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, and co-creators Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd also reunited for dinner in November.
