Ruth Langsford will return to Loose Women on Monday after a two-month absence following her split from husband Eamonn Holmes.

ITV star Ruth, 64, who last appeared on the ITV show in April, will not discuss the split with Eamonn in depth as she wants the show to be as normal as possible.

A close friend of Ruth told her MirrorIt’s been a tough few weeks but she now feels it’s time to get back to Loose Women. It’s a job she loves doing and although the breakup has been very tough, life must go on.

“Just don’t expect any big news or revelations about the divorce, she wants to keep it private.”

Ruth, who first appeared on Loose Women in 1999, is expected to be joined on the show by Coleen Nolan, Brenda Edwards and Janet Street-Porter.

Meanwhile, Eamonn has continued to work for GB News since the split and has not spoken about the couple’s divorce, but has been seen still wearing his wedding ring.

The couple were announced to be parting ways in May after a 27-year relationship and 14-year marriage, and so far, Ruth has refrained from speaking about their split.

This comes after Eamonn shared a post on Instagram earlier this month saying it’s “hard to stand up but my next goal is to walk” amid his ongoing health issues.

She attended the TRIC Awards in June, using a walking frame as she accepted the Best Breakfast Show award for her morning slot on GB News.

The broadcaster has suffered from chronic back pain for years, but his condition worsened after a failed operation and he now struggles to walk unaided.

Eamonn is reportedly being comforted amid his split from Ruth by divorced mother-of-three Katie Alexander, 42, who is 22 years his junior.

He has been spending time with the counselor in recent weeks and sources say she hopes their closeness could develop into a long-term relationship.

A source said Mirror‘Katie is helping Eamonn through some tough times, but doesn’t want to be seen as a marriage wrecker. The friendship has grown over the past few months, but Eamonn’s marriage ended some time ago.’
