A 19-year-old motorcyclist has died after crashing into a traffic barrier.

Emergency services were called to Sir Bertram Stevens Drive in the Royal National Park, about 30 kilometers south of Sydney’s CBD, about 7pm on Friday.

Paramedics treated the motorcyclist for injuries to his chest, head and neck.

Despite their efforts, sadly the 19-year-old died at the scene.

“A crime scene has been established and an investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding this incident,” police said in a statement.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
