The battle for radio supremacy in New South Wales is intensifying.
According Yahoo LifestyleNova’s Fitzy & Wippa featuring Kate Ritchie are set for a shake-up to steal some of Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson’s loyal listeners.
A source told the publication that the Nova trio plans to extend their morning broadcast by an extra hour, stretching from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. instead of their usual 9 a.m. finale.
The bold move pits them directly against the reigning champions, The Kyle & Jackie O Show, which occupy the 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. time slot.
“Nova has been discussing this for a while, but wanted to wait until Kyle and Jackie O stopped looking at the ball and focused on Melbourne to extend,” the source told Yahoo.

“A lot of monsters down there will come to love us. I don’t think it will be immediate, it will take some surveys to realistically figure them out,” Kyle told the Herald of the sun.
“I don’t think it will be immediate, but at the end of the year yes (we will be number one).”
Jackie added that she was confident her show would eventually surpass Melbourne’s other top-rated radio shows.
“We’ll just do our thing and whether it’s slow burn or instant impact, I have faith that it will eventually be the number one show,” he said.
“We don’t think about the ratings, we just have fun.”
