Mets' Brandon Nimmo exits Sunday's game against Marlins with right shoulder discomfort

Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo He was removed from Sunday’s game against the Miami Marlins with what was later announced as a right shoulder injury.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Nimmo, who homered earlier in the game, returned the first pitch of his at-bat against Andres Nardi and immediately seemed to be in some distress.

The training staff examined Nimmo and he initially stayed in the game to finish the at-bat. But after striking out, he was replaced by Jeff McNeil in left field in the top of the eighth inning.
