The engagement ring Meghan Markle received from Prince Harry has come under scrutiny, with new findings suggesting she may not have been entirely happy with the piece.
The Duchess of Sussex, who married Prince Harry in 2018, spoke about her engagement during a Interview with Mishal Husain on BBCHowever, body language expert Judi James has analysed Meghan’s gestures, suggesting she may not have been too keen on her ring.
Speaking to ExpressJames explained: “When the interviewer asks her, ‘Tell us about your ring,’ Meghan looks down with a smile, but then looks at Harry to deflect the question back to him. This is despite the fact that it appears to be her question being asked.”
James further noted“The hand holding the ring is placed over the ring on the other hand, so that the ring is visible but not completely exposed. It is Harry who lifts her ring finger to show her while describing what it is made of, as if he were a QVC salesman.”
According to James, Meghan’s body language suggests that the emotional meaning of the ring affected her more than the ring itself. “Meghan’s body language response suggests that it is the emotional message that clearly affects and moves her more than the ring itself. This is because she becomes reactive and looks at the interviewer when Harry tells her that there are diamonds from his mother’s collection in there.”
This analysis sheds light on Meghan’s true feelings about her engagement ring, which was designed by Harry and features 1.5 carat diamonds. Princess Diana’s collectionWhile the emotional value clearly resonates with Meghan, her initial reaction to the ring seems more subdued.
The Duchess’s body language during the interview highlights a deeper emotional connection to the symbolism of the ring than to its physical appearance. This insight offers a unique perspective on the meaning of the royal jewels and the personal feelings behind these precious pieces.
