Lauren Goodger has revealed that she is worried about her daughter, Larose, catching the virus

Lauren Goodger is worried her daughter Larose will catch the “worst virus of her life” as the former TOWIE star spoke about her health problems on Sunday.

The 37-year-old television personality took to her Instagram Stories to share that she has been trying to recover from norovirus.

Sharing a photo while sitting in the car with her two-year-old daughter, Lauren revealed she is now “exhausted” and in pain all over her body after suffering from the virus throughout the weekend.

Now, feeling a little more like herself, Lauren admits she’s worried about passing the disease on to her young son.

She wrote: ‘The norovirus lasted Friday night into Saturday and it was honestly the worst thing that can happen to you when you have a toddler. I’m so exhausted and my back muscles are sore from all the exertion but today we got up and went out…

‘I was so grateful to feel normal… just tired… fingers crossed my little girl doesn’t get it, but I don’t see how she wouldn’t when she was on top of me the whole time being so sick.

I just want to say all the horror stories that people have sent me, like my grandkids had it for 5 days and were in the hospital or they were bedridden for 8 days and this and that happened or they were so sick for 3 weeks and they were rushed to the hospital…

“I’m so sorry for anyone who’s been through something like this and I hope everyone gets better, but honestly, it was horrible to read when it was so bad!

‘I literally hung up the phone and felt worse so I stopped reading them… but thanks to everyone who wished me well xxx’

Lauren continued to express her concern, writing in another post, as reported by OK! magazine: “Now I’m just waiting for my three-year-old to catch the virus. This will be the hardest part, when she’s unwell my anxiety is so high. I hate seeing my baby sick, especially when she’s alone.”

Her latest virus comes just days after Lauren revealed she was enduring the “most painful” health battle when she shared an update with fans last week.

Lauren took to Instagram where she told how she has been battling an agonising hernia which has left her with a swollen belly and that she is desperate for things to get “back to normal”.

Lauren uploaded a picture of her aching stomach and shared: “My hernia. I look and feel like I’m nine months pregnant. It’s honestly the most painful thing ever!”

“I’m so swollen and this belly button is literally on the back of the red ring, it’s burning through the skin!

‘We are praying that everything will get better and return to normal once the antibiotics take effect.’

Lauren had initially shared a statement with her followers apologizing for taking so long to respond due to her health condition.

She then explained how during the “traumatic birth” of her late daughter Lorena in July 2022, she developed a small hernia and was informed by doctors that it was nothing “to worry about” and that she did not need surgery.

But Lauren revealed that two days ago she woke up with “pain and swelling” that eventually got worse, leaving her in agony and “a lot of discomfort”.

After visiting doctors, Lauren revealed that the swelling has become infected and caused “some other issues,” and that the TV star is currently taking antibiotics and hopes she doesn’t need surgery.

In a second slide on her Instagram Stories, Lauren added that she is now undergoing a “major health effort” in a bid to aid her recovery, with the mum insisting she wants to avoid surgery because she fears it will be difficult to juggle her daughter Larose amid the two-week recovery time.

She went on to say that she will resume her physical training once her hernia heals and will embark on a strict diet for health reasons.

“I really want to get over this infection and get back to normal life. Right now I’m scared and in pain and I’m looking out for signs that could be dangerous,” she concluded.

Hernias are very common and occur when part of an organ shifts and pushes through the structures that contain it, creating a bulge through the skin.

In women, paraumbilical hernias (or “navel hernias”) are common, occurring just above the navel and usually due to a natural weakening of the abdominal wall after the abdominal muscles have stretched during pregnancy. Incisional hernias, at the site of a previous surgery, are also common.

This comes as earlier this week, Lauren shared a gym update with her Instagram followers after taking three and a half weeks off her fitness regimen due to the health issue, which was not disclosed at the time.

The beauty shared a mirror selfie and revealed that her first day back at the gym had left her feeling “strong.”

Lauren sported a loose black T-shirt and baggy white shorts as summer temperatures soared across the UK.

The TV personality tied her hair back in a loose ponytail and stepped out makeup-free after her first workout in nearly a month.

She captioned the post: ‘After 3.5 weeks of not training or dieting… today was my first day back and I felt strong. I wasn’t sure how I was going to be but I’m back!’

“I had a bit of a health scare. I was training for 2.5 months almost every day and then dropped to 0 due to life stress and other distractions, and on top of that it’s 6 weeks of vacation!”

‘Day 1, every day we come back and start again!’

WHAT IS A HERNIA?

A hernia is a common problem that occurs when an internal body part protrudes through a weakness in the muscle or surrounding tissue wall.

It can develop between the chest and hips and cause swelling or a lump in the abdomen or groin and in many cases surgery is required.

You should see a GP if you think you have a hernia.

If you have the following symptoms you should go to the Emergency Room:

  • Sudden and intense pain
  • Be sick
  • Difficulty defecating or passing gas
  • The hernia becomes firm or tender, or cannot be pushed back in.

These symptoms could mean that:

  • The blood supply to a section of organ or tissue trapped in the hernia has been cut off (strangulation)
  • A piece of intestine has entered the hernia and become blocked (obstruction).

A strangulated hernia and an obstructed bowel are medical emergencies and should be treated as soon as possible.
