Thousands of Indiana Hoosiers fans formed a massive line outside the university’s stadium hours before their game against Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes on Thursday.
In addition to the appeal of facing two top-25 ranked teams, fans were even more motivated to see the newly crowned NCAA women’s scoring queen, Caitlin Clark, play in person.
Clark recently broke former Washington Huskie-turned-WNBA champion Kelsey Plum’s record after she hit a long-range 3-pointer against the Michigan Wolverines.
So far this season, he has averaged 32.8 and 8.5 assists per game to lead the Hawkeyes in both categories.
He entered the game against Michigan needing just eight points to surpass Kelsey Plum’s total of 3,527, which he achieved in the first half.

Fans sold out to see the No. 4 Iowa Hawkeyes and super scorer Caitlin Clark.
Clark recently set the all-time NCAA women’s scoring record playing against the Michigan Wolverines.
“It’s cool to be in the same arena as a lot of really good players,” Clark said.
“I’m lucky to do it because I have very good teammates and very good coaches, and a great support system around me.”
Plum set the previous NCAA record in 2017 in his final year at Washington.
Clark’s next goal is the all-time women’s college scoring record of 3,649 points, held by Kansas star Lynette Woodard from 1977 to 1981.
During Woodard’s era, women’s sports were governed by the Association of Women’s Intercollegiate Athletics. Francis Marion’s Pearl Moore holds the overall women’s record with 4,061 points from 1975-1979.
The 22-year-old has become a household name in the past. two seasons. Last year, Clark led the Hawkeyes to the NCAA title game and was named AP Player of the Year.
