She exclaimed, “I was so fucking psyched.”

Chris exclaimed: ‘I was excited!’

Anya told him: “I’ve wanted to do it forever, my whole life.

“Other people have an attachment to my hair and say, ‘Fuck you, I want it taken away.’

“I called everyone on my team, I called Dior, I called Tiffany and I said, ‘Listen, I’m going bald and it’s going to be great.’

“And George saw me and grabbed my hair and said, ‘Oh, he’s too beautiful.’ We can’t cut it.”

It comes after The Queen’s Gambit star said he “developed a bit of a reputation for fighting female wrath”.

Anya, who was born in the United States but went to school in the United Kingdom, said she used to retreat to Hyde Park during the summer holidays to read and climb trees in response to how frustrating she found life at school.

She said british gq: ‘The message I received at school was that everything about me was wrong. I think the way I looked played a role, and then the extremes of my personality definitely played a role.

‘If I loved something, I loved something. I don’t get any chills either way and I guess that might scare people.

‘As a survival mechanism, you learn to be modest and self-critical. You bury yourself before everyone else.

“What I’m starting to understand is that as long as you’re not causing harm to anyone else, you have to stand your ground.”

She continued: ‘How do I say this? I’ve gained a bit of a reputation for fighting for female anger, which is strange, because I’m not promoting violence, but I am promoting women being seen as people.

“We have reactions that are not always delicate or simple.”

In Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the origin story of Charlize Theron’s renegade warrior in Fury Road, Taylor-Joy takes on the lead role and said it unlocked something in her.

Earlier this month, Anya revealed that a 15-minute action scene in her new movie Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga took 78 days to film.

The actress, who plays the young Furiosa in the film set between 15 and 20 years before the events of Mad Max: Fury Road, spoke about the “wild” filming process of her latest film.

Anya leads the cast of the new Mad Max movie, which features an epic scene between the star and his younger self, played by Alyla Browne.

Appearing on The One Show alongside her co-star Chris, Anya gave hosts Roman Kemp and Lauren Laverne an insight into what filming such a long scene entails.

‘We filmed it for 78 days, 78 days!’ Anya said. ‘Yeah. It’s called Stowaway. “It was 100 percent the mountain we were all trying to climb.”

Anya went on to say that the scene had its own crew because of how gigantic the task was, also known as second unit, and was directed by Guy Norton, a stuntman on the first Mad Max.

She continued: ‘It was wild! It was a lot of fun but really interesting because it all took place on the war rig, so I had it really planned out in my head like, “Okay, I’ve got a month and a half under the rig, a month on the side.” .

“When I finally got to the cabin with Tom Burke, he handed me a sandwich and said, ‘Well done, you did it,’ and I said, ‘Thank you.’
