Joe Alwyn is still reaping the benefits of his recent six-year romance with ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, almost a year after their shock split in early 2023.
Despite their breakup, which is rumored to be the inspiration for the superstar’s upcoming album The Tortured Poets Department, the 33-year-old actor is said to be earning millions a year from his songwriting credits on her past three albums.
“Fair or not, it’s made him a very rich guy,” a source said Lifestyle. “Joe is making so much from royalties and returns from (Taylor’s) Eras tour that he’ll never have to worry about money again.”
The outlet also reported that the Conversations with Friends star already has ‘around $2.3 million in Spotify streams alone.’

He will continue to earn money from additional streaming and any of Swift’s live performances of their songs.
The insider added that Swift is ‘furious’ that Alwyn is making a fortune from their work together.
Alwyn, who writes under the pseudonym William Bowery, co-wrote six songs with Swift, 34, including Exile and Betty from her hit 2020 album Folklore, which earned him a Grammy.
In addition, they teamed up on the tracks Champagne Problems, Evermore and Coney Island on Evermore (2020).
Their last song together, Sweet Nothing, was featured on 2022’s Midnights.
Last year The Sun reported that ‘Joe will make a fortune from these songs for years.’
“Taylor’s album sold millions and continues to be huge on streaming services,” the insider noted. “He will easily earn a five-figure sum every year from his contributions. Writing six songs for albums as big as Taylor’s guarantees a healthy income stream for life.’
The couple dated for six years before calling it quits last spring.

Many fans are convinced that Swift’s upcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department, will spell the end of their relationship.
Earlier, a source close to Alwyn revealed to DailyMail.com that the title of her upcoming record is a thinly veiled dig at her ex.
Insiders said he doesn’t believe she will reveal negative details about him and would be shocked if she wrote about their relationship in her new album.
A source said it would be “shady” for her to “diss” him in any way since he has been so stoically silent about their split from his side.
However, he reportedly believes the name of her album is an ‘undeniable’ reference to the WhatsApp group he shares with friends Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott – which is called The Tortured Man Club.
“Taylor knocked him for the name of this when they were dating,” the source revealed. ‘She didn’t want people to think it had anything to do with her, so when he brought it up she was obviously bothered.’
The insider added: ‘Joe has no reason yet to believe she’s going to reject him or their relationship.

‘She writes about her past using code and reference points. It could just be that she’s reflecting on their time together and he’s hoping it’s nothing more.
“If it’s a diss album, it’s shady,” the insider continued.
‘He helped her with songwriting on her previous album so it will really come as a shock to him if she talks about their break up as it’s something he hasn’t talked about at all.’
Another insider told DailyMail.com that Alwyn ‘hasn’t said a word about Taylor or their breakup and has been completely respectful to her.
