Splendor In The Grass’ 2024 artist line-up has sparked backlash over its lack of prominent international acts.
The three-day extravaganza, considered one of Australia’s biggest music festivals, announced its long-awaited lineup on Tuesday, with artists such as Kylie Minogue, G-Flip and Tones And I leading the cohort.
However, these Australian talents were not enough to impress many fans, as online critics have pointed out that there is only one major international artist on the ballot – Future.
‘Absolute nonsense. It’s one of the only festivals in Australia big enough to pull a semi-exciting and decent lineup, and the biggest in the way of overseas headliners is Future,’ commented one frustrated fan.
‘Australian festivals are cursed. How is Future the only good international act?’ another agreed, as another added: ‘Australian music festivals are so boring omg.’

Many expressed disappointment at Lana Del Rey’s absence from the line-up, after she was rumored to be performing at Splendor this year.
‘Where the hell is Lana? That’s a terrible lineup. What terrible news for Australian festivals,” lamented one user.
Another said they felt ‘let down’ because they saw ‘so many Lana rumours’ and had ‘hyped themselves up’.

Scores of fans have complained about the line-up on social media, with many calling the cohort ‘boring’ and filled with Australian niche artists rather than major international acts
Many claimed they had barely heard of most of the artists on the list.
“Realizing how out of touch you are when you’ve only heard of three artists,” wrote one.
‘I’m a festival girl and I hardly know any of these names. If I’m going to buy $200 tickets you need at least ONE person I’m excited to see,” added another.
