Cobra Kai fans got a big surprise at the show’s Season 6 Part 1 premiere on Wednesday, where the stars and creators revealed that Part 2 will be released early.
The series, set decades after the Karate Kid films, had already announced in January 2023 that the sixth season would be its last.
However, Netflix surprised fans in May when it was revealed that this final season would span 15 episodes (five more than the typical 10-episode season), although it would be split into three parts.
Part 1 debuted with the first five-episode segment on Thursday, and Part II was originally scheduled to premiere on Nov. 28, though Part III with the final five episodes does not yet have a specific date, though it will be released in 2025.
However, during the premiere in Los Angeles on Thursday, creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg announced during their presentation that Part II would be moved up two weeks to November 15, which also coincides with another big fight.

They also announced the news to fans in a fun video featuring stars Xolo Mariduena (Miguel Diaz), Jacob Bertrand (Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz) and Gianni DeCenzo (Demetri) practicing what to say to fans and reporters before hitting the red carpet.
“You heard it here first. Send it to the internet. November 15th. Same day as Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson. Netflix Fight Night. No undercard. Two main events. Let’s do it,” the creators said in a statement.

Bertrand stands by an easel and tells Mariduena and DeCenzo, “Okay, before we go to the carpet, let’s go over this one more time,” as they agree.
He turns a sheet of paper on the easel and says, “Part 1… tomorrow…” as Mariduna and DeCenzo finish, “July 18,” while Bertrand moves on to the next sheet.
“Part 2… that’s going to come out…” as Bertrand cuts to a photo of Mariduena kissing Bertrand on the cheek on a previous red carpet.
Bertrand continues, ‘Part 2…’ as Mariduena says, ‘November 28’, but when Bertrand turns to the next page, it says November 15.
DeCenzo asks, “Are we going to get it sooner?” Bertrand replies, “We’re going to get it sooner!” as everyone dances in celebration at the end of the short video.
Still, despite the early release, not all fans were happy to wait so long between each of the final season’s segments.
