Erling Haaland wants more criticism of his form next season to push him towards a third consecutive Golden Boot.
Haaland, who scored 27 goals as Manchester City claimed a record fourth consecutive Premier League title, has been the subject of intense debate this year.
Roy Keane’s incendiary assessment of the Norwegian’s overall game, comparing Haaland to a ‘League Two player’, was the harshest criticism and reignited an ongoing dispute between the couple’s families.
But Haaland has ignored any comments about his play and is now aiming to become the first man since Thierry Henry in 2006 to finish three consecutive seasons as the division’s top scorer.
“If this is a bad season, then I’ll accept it,” said Haaland, who then sarcastically added: “It was a bad season, plain and simple; the only way is up.” The more enemies and critics, the better.”

But Haaland insists that criticism from his enemies only inspires him to continue scoring goals.
