Tyrese Gibson’s ex-wife, Norma Mitchell, is suing him for defamation and seeking a temporary restraining order against him over Instagram posts in which he accuses her of “blackmail and death threats.”
Mitchell filed a lawsuit obtained by TMZ against the Fast and the Furious star in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, alleging that Gibson defamed her and revealed private information about her teenage daughter Shayla, 16, in a series of Instagram posts between April 30 and May 7.
Gibson, 45, and Mitchell were married between 2007 and 2009 and have been involved in numerous legal battles over the years.
Mitchell claims the couple argued over their daughter’s school tuition before the actor used social media to go public with the dispute, allegedly “hitting Mitchell with a vicious barrage of derogatory and defamatory messages, including false accusations that he had committed blackmail, extortion, death threats, taxes.” evasion, forgery, bank fraud, electronic fraud and money laundering.

Mitchell claims the Instagram posts Tyrese shared are “harassment” and is asking the court to force him to delete them.
She also asks that Gibson be ordered to refrain from talking about them online and wants a judge to make him pay for therapy sessions related to the posts.
A judge has yet to rule on the TRO request.
