Tori Spelling revealed her ‘lazy’ trick for getting her youngest son to school on time during Tuesday’s episode of her Spelling Errors Podcast.

While chatting with fellow actress Debbie Gibson, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, 51, revealed that she dresses her son, Beau, seven, in his school clothes the night before to save time in the morning.

“It’s so bad. I’ve gotten so lazy with my youngest son because there are so many that at night I put him in his clothes for the next day,” she admitted to listeners. “And I convinced him that it’s okay to do that.”

The reality star, who filed for divorce from Dean McDermott after 18 years of marriage in April, went on to explain how she has “streamlined” the new routine.

‘So, he eats dinner, he takes a shower, sometimes, but then I’m like, “Hey, buddy. We’ll save five extra minutes if we get dressed now and then you can sleep later.”

In response to the suggestion, Spelling noted that her little one was totally on board and now “sleeps with his clothes on.”

After making the confession, the mother of five jokingly asked: ‘Am I a bad mother?’

In June, the artist shared photos from Beau’s kindergarten end-of-year party.

“Beau Beau is officially a first grader,” she captioned a sweet snapshot of them together at their elementary school.

The unconventional trick of putting a child to sleep in his school clothes is causing some concern among experts.

Dr. Natalie Blum said Dormir.com that ‘the safety of pajamas versus daywear is the most dangerous part of wearing sleepwear.’

For example, the Consumer Product Safety Act, which regulates children’s sleepwear, requires that “pajamas that are not too tight-fitting must contain flame retardants.”

Other concerns include how decorative elements, such as sequins, buttons and zippers, on daywear can pose a choking hazard.

Blum also noted that “morning and bedtime rituals are part of healthy child development.”

“Typically, for best sleep hygiene, we recommend doing the exact same bedtime and morning routine every day,” she told the outlet. “[Putting on pajamas]just helps separate day from night, especially for younger children who are still establishing routines.”

Another factor is how clothes worn during the day can irritate sensitive skin at night.
