Ruth Langsford’s friend has “revealed the real reason” she split from husband Eamonn Holmes, according to a new report.
The Loose Women presenter and the broadcaster, both 64, announced last week their plans to divorce after 14 years of marriage and 27 years together.
Now, it has been claimed that a friend of Ruth’s said she was left “devastated” when she discovered “messages from another woman” on Eamonn’s laptop.
A source said Sun: ‘Ruth was completely surprised when she saw the messages.
‘She had no idea what had been going on between them. She was devastated.’

Now, it has been claimed that a friend of Ruth’s said she was left “devastated” when she discovered “messages from another woman” on Eamonn’s laptop (pictured in 2021).
The Loose Women presenter and broadcaster, both 64, announced last week their plans to divorce after 14 years of marriage and 27 years together (pictured in 2009).
They added: “Not only was she very upset but she was also angry.”
The publication previously reported that Eamonn had become close to a younger friend over the past year, a blonde divorcee and relationship counselor, with whom he has been on a “series of outings,” according to Sun.

On Thursday, Ruth’s friends reportedly insisted there is “no chance” of her reuniting with Eamonn.
He has reportedly been left injured and is taking an extended break from Loose Women after discovering that he is being comforted by a woman in her forties amid their split who he has befriended.
Eamonn and the blonde divorcee reportedly struck up a friendship in recent years and the publication claims the presenter took her on a trip to a safari park, a Manchester United match and a Beyoncé concert.
This week, a friend of Ruth’s said Mirror: ‘Ruth was hurt when she found out about Eamonn’s friendship with another woman, but she is strong and will be back soon with a smile on her face, giving her best, as she always does.
“She needs a bit of time to regroup after everything she’s been through, which is understandable, but she plans to return to Loose Women, with renewed vigour, in July.”

Reports claim Eamonn and the woman got in touch via social media after they were both involved with a mental health charity.
A spokesperson for Ruth said: ‘Ruth had a holiday booked from Loose Women and has extended her leave. She is looking forward to returning to the show in due course.”

While Eamonn’s new friendship is not said to be the reason for the breakdown of the marriage, it is understood that Ruth did not know her until recently and decided to take time off work.

He learned of their plan just hours before the statement was released through Ruth’s spokesperson on Saturday afternoon, saying: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed that their marriage has ended and they are in the process of divorcing.”
The announcement was described as a “joint statement.”
A friend of Eamonn told the Mail: ‘Eamonn was shocked, it was terrible for him.
‘He literally found out very shortly before it was published; We are talking about hours.
“It all seems a bit strange given that the statement said they hoped to keep the relationship friendly.”
‘Eamonn wanted nothing to do with this, he saw no reason why you would publish that statement.
‘It was entirely written and signed by Ruth and her team. In the end he had no power over it.’
The Mail also revealed that Eamonn had been confessing how “very bad” things had been with his wife in recent weeks, while his GB News colleagues said they had been worried about him of late.
They said he had been “depressed” but attributed it to being in pain.
The couple married in 2010 after dating for 13 years and say that, despite their split, they are “determined to remain friends.”
They are parents to son Jack, 22, while Eamonn also has sons Declan, 35, Niall, 31, and daughter Rebecca, 33, from his previous marriage.
