Ruth returned to the ITV show in July after taking an extended break. following the news that she and Eamonn were going their separate ways.

During Monday’s Loose Women, she She spoke candidly about her experiences with aging, admitting that “everything has crashed and crashed,” only to be met with a brutal response from the studio audience.

The TV presenter revealed the changes she has noticed in her body since turning 60 as the panel discussed “dramatic ageing”.

This was prompted by a new study that found that rather than experiencing a slow, gradual decline, our bodies change dramatically between the ages of 44 and 60.

Kicking off the debate, Ruth said: ‘I actually saw this article, it was in the Daily Mail today with a number of women talking about it and it really resonated with me.

“Definitely, when I hit 60, everything seemed to happen so fast. You know, between 50 and 60, you know, I’m not too worried about age.”

She added: ‘But at 60, so far, I’m 64, I feel like everything has fallen and collapsed and it’s a bit, you know, a weird neck…’

As the presenter stood there thinking, the audience burst into laughter, to which Ruth replied: “I do, I do!”

She looked at the studio audience and said, “You’re supposed to go, no Ruth, no, I’m sure not,” which sparked another wave of laughter.

Panelist Kelly Holmes chimed in and asked Ruth, “Do you really see it and feel it in yourself?”

“I can see it,” Ruth admitted, “I look in the mirror or take a selfie or something, whereas before I didn’t really notice it.”

She continued: ‘We promote body positivity and confidence a lot here, age is just a number, so I’m kind of teetering on this tightrope of trying really hard to be that woman.

‘Then I have those moments where I fall off the tightrope and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, look at my neck, it’s horrible.’

On the other hand, when Brenda Edwards was asked if aging bothered her, she confidently replied: “Absolutely not, it doesn’t bother me at all.”

‘Everyone says you’re old. You can be three years old, five years old, or fifty years old, so it’s a mentality. I don’t want people to say you’re old anymore because you get to 40 or 60.

-No. I am young at heart and I smile a lot. That is why at 55 years old I have no wrinkles on my face.
