Rock Ross has spoken out after angry Drake fans attacked him at a Canadian music festival for playing a Kendrick Lamar diss track aimed at the rapper.
Ross, 48, whose real name is William Roberts, played a set at the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver on Sunday; he ended his set with Kenrick’s chart-topping song against Drake, Not Like Us, a decision that sparked anger among several concertgoers.
Now, Ross has broken her silence for the first time since the shocking incident by sharing a post on her Instagram account, in which she appeared to completely ignore the furore, simply stating that she had “fun” during her trip.
“Vancouver was fun, until next time,” the rapper wrote as he posed in front of a black private jet emblazoned with his name.
Ross’ seemingly casual post about his time in Canada revealed little about the chaos that unfolded during the end of his set.
Rock Ross has spoken out after a rap battle turned physical at a Vancouver music festival over the weekend.
As the rapper left the stage, with the song still playing, he was met by a group of Drake fans who were unhappy with his choice of closing song.
Footage of the attack shared on social media shows a man believed to be Ross engaged in a heated argument with a fellow festival-goer.
The man later throws a punch in Ross’s direction, leading to a fight.
The fight didn’t appear to have affected Ross’ time in Canada, as the rapper posted an Instagram story on Monday in front of his Rick Ross-branded private jet, writing: “Vancouver, it was fun, until next time.”
In the series of photographs, she is also seen drinking champagne and having lunch with her entourage.
Drake, 37, appeared to take aim at Ross earlier this year in his song Push Ups. The song included the lyrics: “I could take your last girl and cuff her like Ricky / I can’t believe I’m jumping, this black turning 50 / Every song that hit the chart I got from Drizzy.”
Ross responded with his song Champagne Moments, suggesting that Drake had gotten a nose job.
Canadian star Drake and American rapper Kendrick Lamar have been embroiled in a furious rivalry for years.
Lamar, 37, made some serious accusations in his track Not Like Us, released in early May 2024.
In the song, the Compton-born rapper appears to accuse Drake of being a pedophile, along with another member of his crew.
It was posted on YouTube with what appeared to be a graphic of Drake’s house covered in red sex offender symbols.

This is the moment Drake fans attacked Rick Ross after he played Kendrick Lamar’s song against the Canadian rapper.
Drake, 37, appeared to take a dig at Ross earlier this year in his song Push Ups.
As the 48-year-old rapper left the stage, with the song still playing, he was met by a group of Drake fans who were unhappy with his choice of closing song.
Drake responded in May, releasing The Heart Part 6, rapping: ‘Drake ain’t a name you’re gonna see on no sex offender list.
Lamar took another swing at the Canadian rapper in June, hosting the star-studded show, The Pop Out – Ken & Friends at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
He initially took the stage to open the concert with his song Euphoria, which is another offensive song against Drake, and included new lyrics.
According to the BBC, the song included a new line, with the hitmaker rapping: “Give me back Tupac’s ring and I might give you some respect.”
The new addition appears to reference how Drake purchased the late Tupac Shakur’s crown ring for over $1 million in July 2023, as an anonymous bidder.
While Ross was battling Drake’s fans, the rapper was celebrating Canada Day, posting a series of videos and photos on his Instagram stories.
In one clip, he was seen singing a song before looking into the camera and saying, “Happy Canada Day.”
In another clip, a friend is seen squeezing a lemon wedge into a drink before clinking his glass with presumably Drake, who was holding the camera and taking a sip, putting an emoji of a Canadian flag and a maple leaf on it.
The rapper ended the day with fireworks and posted a video of the sky lighting up as he enjoyed it with friends.
