She said: “It was definitely originally written as white and previously played by a white actress. “I’m really excited to bring something new to the role, I hope young women who don’t see themselves on screen often see that it’s possible.
Ambika admitted that she wouldn’t have gotten the role 10 years ago because of her skin color, saying: “I’m very different to Anne Hathaway, so I never worried about that. Just the fact that I’m not white and I’m going to play Emma.” .

After equally as big a success, Leo Woodall will star in the lead role in a new Apple TV series, Prime Target, from New Regency and Scott Free, with executive producer Ridley Scott.
Leo is currently dating his White Lotus co-star, Meghann Fahy, 33.
After the final series began filming in Sicily in early 2022, the couple are believed to have been together ever since.
In the show, Meghann plays Daphne Sullivan, a wealthy housewife, while Leo plays Jack, the supposed nephew of a wealthy expat, Quentin, played by 56-year-old Tom Hollander.

Last February, the couple walked the red carpet together for the first time for the 29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.
