Nick Knowles has revealed he is “gutted” to have missed Strictly Come Dancing while watching Saturday night’s show on crutches.
The DIY SOS star, 62, missed Film Week, just a week after her future on the show was left in doubt due to injury.
But during a dress rehearsal for his Charleston on Friday, Nick fell and hurt his knee during a jump, leaving him on crutches and having to be taken to hospital for an MRI.

At the top of the show, hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman updated viewers on the situation as he and partner Luba Mushtuk earned a bye to the next round of the competition.

Tess said: ‘As you can see, Nick Knowles and his partner Luba are not here. “In rehearsals, Nick suffered an injury and will not be able to perform tonight.”
Claudia added: “According to the rules of the competition, you will receive a direct pass to next week’s show.”
Claudia also sent her love to Nick on behalf of the entire team and wished him a “speedy recovery”, for which she was received with applause.
Nick was also inundated with well wishes on his social media. with fans rushing to send him get well soon messages.

Nick and Luba were scheduled to perform the Charleston to Paddington 2’s Rain On The Roof for Film Week.

Earlier this week, a Strictly Come Dancing spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘Unfortunately, Nick Knowles suffered an injury during rehearsals and as a result will not be dancing this weekend.
‘Under the rules of the competition, Nick and Luba will be given a break until next week, when it is hoped they will be able to dance again. Everyone at Strictly Come Dancing wishes Nick a speedy recovery.
