Lily Allen has been criticised by fans after admitting she got rid of her dog when it ate her and her children’s passports and visas.
The 39-year-old singer made the confession on her Do you miss me?complaining that adopting the dog “ruined her life” after it cost her a fortune to replace the papers, adding that it prevented her daughters from seeing their father for months.
Following Lily’s comments, many fans were quick to share their thoughts on X and slammed the star for choosing to send the pup “back home.”
Posts included: “Did he take responsibility for leaving the passports where a puppy could access them? No. He got rid of the dog. What a horrible person;
“It’s her fault, not the poor dogs’. She’s clearly a first-class idiot for not keeping important documents away from the animals.”

Lily had previously confessed that she and her daughters had adopted a dog in 2021, but later said the dog “ruined her life” after eating her and her children’s passports and visas.
The Not Fair singer added that the effort to replace her documents proved to be a “logistical nightmare.”
She also recounted how her ex-husband Sam Cooper would not allow her to use her now-husband David Harbour’s surname on replacement passports, a bone of contention with the Stranger Things actor.
But despite her nightmare with her previous dog, Allen soon plans to get another dog, which she and her daughters Ethel, 13, and Marnie, 11, have decided to name Jude Bellingham.
Lily, who lives in New York with David, 49, and their children, did not specify which dog she was referring to, but it can be assumed that it was the pup, named Mary, that she and David adopted from the New York City-based nonprofit Animal Haven in 2021.

She said: ‘We actually already adopted a dog, but it ate my passport, so I took it back home.
‘She ate our three passports and kept our visas.
‘And I can’t tell you how much money it cost me to replace everything, because it was because of Covid and it was an absolute logistical nightmare.
‘And because my children’s father lives in England, I couldn’t take them to see their dad for four or five months, because this damn dog had eaten their passports.
“And I couldn’t look at her. I thought, ‘You’ve ruined my life.'”
The Smile singer continued: “Passports weren’t the only thing she was eating, she was a very badly behaved bitch and I tried really hard with her but it just didn’t work out and passports were the straw that broke the camel’s back so to speak.”
Asked on her Miss Me? podcast if she had adopted the surname of her husband Harbour, whom she married two years ago, two years after divorcing developer Cooper, with her new passport, she replied: “No, and this is a big bone of contention.”
‘I still have my ex-husband’s last name because I have two children with him and it’s difficult to travel with children if you don’t have the same last name.

“And he wasn’t too keen on letting me change the kids’ names to Harbour, so I kept my ex-husband’s name.
“David and I have joint bank accounts, so it really bothers him that I have my American Express card in my ex-husband’s name. I’m sure that hurts him.”
Allen said the family’s new puppy is a Chihuahua mix.
She told her friend, presenter Steve Jones: ‘We might get a new puppy in the next few weeks.
‘The girls and I have been thinking about a name and we decided on Jude Bellingham.’
It comes after David revealed his wife Lily’s most annoying habit and why he had already decided he wanted to get married on their third date.
The actor, who plays Jim Hopper in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, said the singer had what he called a strange “unique” trait: making him stay in a room with her when she has other things to do, but then not talking to him.
David said: ‘She does this all the time, so she’ll be downstairs in the kitchen, maybe cooking or doing something, and I’ll be trying to live my life, doing various things, and she’ll call me into the kitchen.
“And for some reason it’ll be something like, ‘David, David, do we have any cheese? ‘”
“I (go to the kitchen) and I say, ‘Yeah, there’s cheese here.’ And she says, ‘Where are you going?'”
And I’m like, “Honey, I’m just gonna live my life.”
‘She just looks at me disappointed because I was going to go about my day and sit at the kitchen table, but she doesn’t want to talk or interact.
“She just wants me to be there as a presence.”
When asked by Lily’s best friend Miquita Oliver why he thought his wife did it, Harbour told the Miss Me? podcast: “I know exactly why, but it’s something deeply psychological.”
He then said: ‘This is one of those moments where my wife said ‘Don’t give too much away’, but added: ‘She just likes the comfort of people being in a room with her.
“I think she really values it, but she just doesn’t want to interact directly. But she really values it.”
