Fitness guru Kayla Itsines has revealed the extreme measures she took to protect herself amid a horrific seven-month harassment ordeal.

The 33-year-old fitness influencer and personal trainer revealed she had to get two guard dogs after a man waited outside her house “every day” for months.

Itsines shared her story this week on the YouTube channel Protective dogs around the worldthe organization that provided the animals.

As Kayla shared her ordeal, the video showed her happily playing with what appeared to be two Dobermans.

Kayla revealed a chance encounter with the unnamed man, who initially seemed to be “the nicest person in the world,” but eventually turned into something darker.

“I was really young and one day I was standing outside my house and this really young blonde surfer-looking guy drove up in a car, pulled up in front of my house and got out of the car,” Kayla said in the video.

‘He was like, “Oh my God, I’m so sorry, this is so embarrassing. My girlfriend loves you, she does your shows, do you mind if I take a selfie? I was just passing by work, I work down the street.”

Kayla said she was very happy to take a selfie with the man, before going one step further and filming a video for him too.

After the seemingly innocent encounter, Kayla said she began seeing the man more and more.

“He seemed like the nicest person in the world. Anyway, this kept happening because he worked down the street.”

Kayla admitted that things changed one day when the man pulled up next to her while she was sitting in her car.

“It must have been seven months, I was in my car and he pulled up next to me in his car, rolled down the window and said, ‘roll down the window,'” she explained.

Kayla revealed that a chance encounter with who she described as “the nicest person in the world” seemed harmless enough at first, but eventually turned into something darker than shaking hands.

“Something in my brain was saying, ‘Wait a second, this isn’t right.’ I was thinking that I was in a really bad situation right now and I couldn’t fix it.”

Kayla then shared her concerns with a family member who, while initially telling her she was being silly, tried to calm her concerns by suggesting she review her security camera footage.

However, what Kayla saw shocked her.

“Every day for seven months straight, this man would park on a dead-end street, wait for me to come out of my house and drive past every day,” she said.

“I’d notice him once a week, but he’d pass by every day,” she said.

Kayla revealed that she eventually tracked down the man, only to discover that he lived more than 30 minutes away from her and did not work nearby as he had claimed.

Kayla then discovered that the man’s motives were stranger than she could have imagined.

“We found him and contacted one of his family members and long story short, his job was to convert me to some kind of church group,” he said.

“So his job was to befriend me and then bring me into this group of people, which was very, very strange.”

Kayla added that the whole ordeal left her feeling ashamed and insecure, until a friend suggested she get a dog for protection.

“I felt so ashamed, insecure, sad, and honestly, I felt so stupid for trusting someone who I thought wasn’t a friend but was completely okay, when in reality they weren’t,” she said.
