EXCLUSIVE

A bus driver accused of sexually assaulting disabled children has hit out after being asked about the allegations by the Daily Mail Australia.

Joseph Raymond Saba, 51, allegedly sexually abused two girls, aged 13 and 14, between January 30 and June 6 this year while taking them to a school in Sydney’s west.

He was arrested at 10 a.m. Monday and charged with six counts of allegedly intentionally sexually touching a child between the ages of 10 and 16.

Saba appeared before Blacktown Local Court later that day where he was granted conditional bail.

Since his arrest, Saba has been hiding out on a relative’s property to avoid media presence at his Greystanes home.

When contacted by a Daily Mail Australia reporter outside a relative’s residence on Thursday, the grey-haired Saba declined to discuss the allegations against him.

“Get away!” he shouted, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt over a black T-shirt, matching sweatpants and black sneakers, his right fist and forearm strangely stuffed inside a plastic bag.

‘Don’t talk to me!’

Business records obtained by Daily Mail Australia show Saba has operated a transport business as a sole trader for nearly 20 years.

The company was registered under the name Paradise Transport but changed its name to JS Courier Services in July.

Neighbours told the Daily Mail Australia they were shocked to learn of Saba’s arrest.

They said Saba, nicknamed “Joe”, appeared “friendly” and greeted local residents when he and his partner were out walking their dog.

The arrest came just weeks after the New South Wales Police State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad launched an investigation in August after receiving reports that a bus driver was allegedly assaulting children with disabilities.

Under the terms of his bail, Saba must report to police twice a week and not come within 100 metres of the school.

You should also not attempt to contact your alleged victims or any prosecution witnesses.

His next court appearance will be on September 19.
