The U.S. men’s national basketball team will travel to France late next week to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, but before they arrive in the City of Lights, they will compete in a week-long series of exhibition games against some of their biggest Olympic rivals. Coached by Steve Kerr, Team USA will compete against Serbia in their third exhibition game, which will be held at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, July 17. Team USA will hope to continue their winning streak after defeating Canada and Australia in the series of friendly games leading up to the Olympics.
Team USA boasts an incredible lineup of talent, many of whom have already won Olympic gold in the past. 2024 marks LeBron James and Kevin Durant’s fourth Olympic appearance, while Jayson Tatum, Bam Adebayo, Devin Booker, Jrue Holiday and Anthony Davis are all returning for a second time after winning gold in Tokyo in 2020. This year is Steph Curry’s first Olympic appearance.
The Serbian national team also features several familiar faces from the NBA: the team’s roster includes Charlotte Hornets players Vasilije Micic and Aleksej Pokusevski, Miami Heat forward Nikola Jovic, and Bogdan Bogdanovic of the Atlanta Hawks.
