Emergency services rushed to the aid of a bus driver who was stabbed by a young man.
The incident occurred shortly before 1pm in the centre of the town of Robina, southwest of Surfers Paradise in Queensland.
Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after and are treating the 60-year-old driver for a stab wound to the hip.
Initial witness reports suggest the young man fled the scene shortly afterwards.
Queensland Police have confirmed a crime scene has been established and investigations into the attack have begun.
