Heidi Klum is promoting body positivity on her new platform Modelverse.
The America’s Got Talent judge, whose Golden Buzzer winner took home the $1 million prize, talked about how important it is to showcase all different body types and shapes, both online and offline.
The supermodel has created a virtual experience for Roblox where players can walk the runway at major fashion shows as her avatar, and she believes avatars should be available in many shapes and sizes.
The Project Runway alum drew inspiration for Modelverse from the years her 14-year-old daughter Lou spent playing Roblox.
She asked Lou what was missing from the game and the two discovered that there was only a certain body type available as an avatar to use, so Heidi decided she wanted to change that.

‘For most younger kids, I don’t think the idea of diversity, or its importance, has even sunk into (their heads).
“They don’t even realize it,” Klum said.
“The world doesn’t look like this, and most of us don’t look like this.”
And the shapes of the avatars are important to her.
“I wanted people to come with their own avatar or create a new one (and make it) however they wanted, and not just that typical type of body shape, which I think is so outdated,” he explained in an interview with People.
“It’s 2024. I think diversity is greater than ever these days, so why isn’t this reflected in any of the games?” Klum added.

She asked Lou what was missing from the game and the two discovered that there was only a certain body type available as an avatar to use, so Heidi decided she wanted to change that.
“I feel like there needs to be variety in avatars, so I wanted to create a world where there is diversity in body shapes.”
And it was not limited to including more diversity in body shapes.
He also inserted a bit of fantasy into the choice of characters.
‘Why do we have to just look human? “Why not be a hot dog walking down the walkway or… a walking tree or something?” he said.
In the game, users can customize their runway and fashion show with a specific theme that corresponds with a holiday, season, or event.

“I looked at the world calendar and what kind of holidays are celebrated,” Klum told the outlet.
“I was inspired by them and created all these different worlds in these different places, so it wouldn’t be redundant to always have the same runway.”
For example, users can attend Heidi’s infamous annual Halloween party on the platform during the month of October.
“We immersed ourselves in all these different worlds and their festivities, and for each one I created different looks,” Heidi explained.
