The allegations were detailed Wednesday by homicide detectives who were poised to charge the taekwondo instructor over the “heartbreaking” murders of the Korean-Australian family on Monday night.

Yoo underwent surgery and was placed under arrest once the bodies were discovered on Tuesday.

The boy regularly attended the taekwondo studio for classes.

“We are still establishing what other connections or what other relationships may or may not have been,” he said, describing Tuesday’s discoveries as a “tragic turn of events,” Detective Superintendent Doherty said.

Detective Superintendent Doherty sought further help from the public and encouraged anyone in the vicinity of the taekwondo studio on Monday night who may have seen or heard anything to contact investigators.

Anyone with images of the BMW on Monday night is also asked to contact police.

Yoo’s lawyers appeared briefly before Parramatta Local Court on Thursday, when they did not apply for bail.

The 49-year-old did not appear via video conference from his hospital bed.

Police prosecutors will have to provide Yoo and his lawyers with a brief of evidence by April 16 and the matter will return to court two days later.
