Fans have criticized Gary Neville after he suggested Manchester United should have been awarded a penalty during their clash with Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta’s men took the lead in the 20th minute thanks to a close-range shot from Leandro Trossard.
As United searched for an equaliser, Amad Diallo fell inside the area following an outstretched leg from Thomas Partey after 36 minutes. The referee gave the go-ahead to the game and the VAR annulled the incident.
Neville appeared to suggest Partey caught Diallo, saying: “The only issue is Partey is on the ground and he just sticks his right leg out.”

Fans took to social media to criticize Neville’s “biased” comment on Sky Sports.
One said: ‘Gary Neville…. So partial it’s incredible. Trying to penalize something that everyone else says is not. Why are you allowed to commentate on his team’s games???’
Another wrote: ‘Gary Neville is desperate for his beloved United to get a penalty for absolutely nothing. Biased commentary as always on Sky’.
“Gary Neville cries in heaven thinking Partey’s tackle is a penalty for Diallo,” posted a third fan on X.
Meanwhile, former United striker Rooney insisted it was not a penalty but claimed Partey was “very lucky” not to have been penalised.
‘He said: I don’t think it’s a penalty. I think partey is very lucky. He gets to his feet early and then thankfully only gets a small cut on the ball. So for me it’s not a penalty, but the game is very lucky here.
