Fans took to social media to mock Endrick after the future Real Madrid star failed to make a significant impact during Brazil’s defeat to Uruguay in the Copa America on Saturday.
Endrick, who will move to Madrid from Palmeiras next summer after turning 18, played the full 90 minutes in Nevada, where the match ended 0-0 before Uruguay won 4-2 on penalties.
Madrid centre-back Eder Militao and former Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz failed to score in the shootout, while Endrick did not take any spot-kicks. However, it was what Endrick did (or didn’t do) during regulation time that left fans stunned.
Statistics showed he completed just one pass – out of five attempts – all night. It later emerged that the lone pass had been during Brazil’s kick-off.
Images of the pass were shared via X (formerly Twitter) by a Barcelona fan along with several crying emojis and the caption: “I’m dead, this is the “pass” my brother made during the entire match.”
Endrick had a night to forget as Brazil were eliminated from the Copa America in Nevada on Saturday night.
The 17-year-old’s only completed pass in the scoreless quarter-final came straight from kick-off.
In addition to his one completed pass, SofaScore stats show that Endrick only had one shot that was on target. His expected goals (xG) rating was just 0.03.
Endrick touched the ball 23 times in total during the match, including three dribble attempts, one of which was successful.
In response to the video, one fan tweeted: “How the hell is this possible?”
Another mocked: ‘The next Pele!’
A third comment read: “That’s worse than 0 touches in 90 minutes.”
