Boxing champion Devin Haney was among a group of men who were caught attacking someone at the Orange County Fair in a social media post that has since gone viral.

The cause of the altercation remains unclear, as does the identity of the other parties involved.

The 27-second clip shows Haney and a group of men crowded around another civilian next to one of the fairground rides. Haney appears to initiate the violence by throwing a punch before the boxer’s friends intervene and continue the beating.

The other man stands up and does his best to stay on his feet before police sirens are heard off-camera, prompting Haney and his group to flee.

Haney’s failure to knock down the civilian with his left cross was noted by boxing fans and his rival, suspended boxer Ryan Garcia.

“He couldn’t even shoot down a civilian,” Garcia wrote in X.

“You also talked about being a great role model,” he continued. “You actually beat someone up while your whole team was attacking one guy.”

In a follow-up post, Garcia questioned “what would the commission do if I fought with someone and it was caught on camera.”

Garcia then added: “The problem is that he hits so softly that maybe they let it go and call it a play fight.”

Garcia, 26, has struggled since winning a majority decision over Haney in Brooklyn on April 20.

The New York State Athletic Commission stripped Garcia of his victory after he tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance. Garcia was fined $1.1 million and given a one-year suspension for using Ostarine, which he denies taking.

Garcia has since been banned from the WBC for using racial slurs against African Americans and insulting Muslims in online posts.

Garcia has since apologized and promised to go to rehab to address substance abuse issues.

Many boxing fans were also quick to point out that the outnumbered man in the carnival fight remained relatively unfazed by Haney’s left jab, though others questioned whether the punch actually landed.

“Devin Haney was unable to take down or shake a righteous worker with a sneak shot,” one person wrote on X.

“It didn’t even land, which may or may not be just as bad,” another person wrote.

Haney’s spokespeople did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment.
