Danny Jones shared the sweet moment his son Cooper discovered he was his father under the Piranha costume, while winning The Masked Singer UK on Saturday night.
The McFly guitarist, 37, beat all the competition to take the crown during the highly anticipated final, before his identity was finally revealed.
Judge Davina McCall guessed it correctly, but she still couldn’t believe it and Danny told her: ‘You caught me but you didn’t believe it!’
And Danny took to his Instagram on Saturday to reveal that he had managed to keep everyone in the dark – even his own son.
He shared a video watching the unmasking with six-year-old Cooper and his wife Georgia Horsley, as the family chanted: ‘Take it off!’

When it was revealed to be Danny under the mask, Cooper gasped in shock and shouted, “It’s Dad!” He’s Dad!’
His parents burst out laughing as Cooper jumped off the couch and ran to climb into his father’s lap and hug him.
Host Joel Dommett commented on the adorable video, writing, “To be fair, this was my reaction too…”
Danny’s McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher also shared his reaction to the big reveal, watching from home with his three sons, Buzz, nine, Buddy, eight, and Max, five.
The entire family cheered and jumped when Danny was unmasked, as Buzz declared, “I knew it!”
Tom then shared another video on his Instagram directed at Danny, expressing his congratulations and praising his bandmate for his “unreal” performance.
He said: ‘Danny ‘Piranha’ Jones, wow, congratulations mate. You gave some of the best vocals I’ve ever heard. They were unreal.
“I’m sure all the McFly fans across the country have been screaming in front of their TVs for the past few weeks just like my kids did because of course we know you can sing like that.

‘We’ve heard you sing like that for the last 21 years, but what I think has been surprising is seeing how many people heard this incredible voice coming from that Piranha and would never have guessed it was that guy from McFly.
“And I think this shows how underrated Danny has been for the last 20 years. It took going on stage in a Piranha mask for people to step back and realize that Danny Jones from McFly has got one of the best voices of all time.
‘God level, up there, with the best. How lucky we are to have Danny Jones’ voice in our band!
Tom concluded: ‘Congratulations Danny, it’s been amazing and I hope you can keep the mask! I’ll see you soon!’
Then he joked at the end: ‘I thought you smelled a little fishy, mate…’
In the finale, Danny sang a stunning rendition of Sam Smith’s Lay Me Down, with panellist Jonathan Ross stating, “I think it was the best performance, not just of this series but of any series.” That was extraordinarily good.’
He fended off competition from finalists Cricket and Bigfoot, who turned out to be singer Lemar and comedian Alex Brooker, respectively.
On winning the show, Danny said: “It feels surreal.” Everything about this show and everything I just did is completely surreal! I’ve become Piranha and not Danny Jones anymore!’

He admitted that it had been difficult to keep his participation and winning a secret, saying: “Very difficult and even more so now that I have won.”
‘It’s been really difficult because I get excited very easily about things and I’m totally involved when I do something. I’m supposed to be on tour. It’s been very difficult, but that’s part of the fun, right?
After his reveal, guest panelist Rob Brydon joked that Danny should leave the other McFly members and go alone.
Referring to Danny’s bandmates Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd, Rob joked: ‘If we’ve learned anything, it’s time to leave those losers and do it alone. Those guys have been holding you back!’
Speaking about what his bandmates would think of his performance, Danny said: ‘I think the boys will be very surprised. I’m my own worst enemy, so I’m always like, “That wasn’t very good,” so they always make me stronger. They’ll guess me right away.
