Claymore: Two men were rushed to hospital in a park in south-west Sydney with gunshot wounds

A man has been rushed to hospital following a shooting in Sydney's southwest on Saturday morning.

Two men were shot in a suspected targeted attack in Sydney’s southwest on Saturday morning.

NSW Ambulance said they were called to two scenes – at Highfield Park, Proctor Way and the adjacent Dobell Avenue, in Claymore.

A man was found with gunshot wounds to the head and torso in Highfield Park in Claymore at around 9.30am, with police and paramedics rushing to the scene.

Shortly before, police were also called to a nearby store in response to reports that a man had been shot in the torso and had sought medical help.

In a statement, New South Wales Police said they were called to a store in Claymore following reports that a man, suffering from injuries to his torso, had sought medical help.

“A short time later, police were called to a reserve on Proctor Way, Claymore, after a man was located with gunshot wounds to the head and torso,” the statement continued.

‘Police have established a crime scene and have begun an investigation.

‘Initial investigations led police to believe the incident was planned.’

There is still a large police presence at the scene of the incident, which has been cordoned off.
