Melham had placed fifth in Saturday’s Tab Champions Stakes at Arapaho and ninth in the Shesallshenanigans in the World Horse Racing Grand Handicap.
The couple had announced they were engaged earlier this year, on Valentine’s Day, and Cumani was looking to find out how Melham was feeling ahead of race day.

She continued, “He’s very excited about this, um…”
“He… Look, if she… If she didn’t have a hard time with (Jenni’s Pride) in her last two races, she loves Flemington,” he said as he tried to compose himself after the awkward moment. moment.
