Britain’s Got Talent viewers are furious after discovering that K-pop band Blitzers is already famous in Korea.
The South Korean band were one of the acts to take on Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli on Saturday’s episode.
The Blitzers, aged 19 to 22, chose to perform their own version of Shawn Mendes’ There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back despite having their own music, and ended up surprising the judges.
The first K-pop band to appear on the British talent show got four yeses from the judges and will move on to the next round.
But BGT viewers took to social media to express their frustrations after discovering the band had already achieved international fame, as well as questioning why non-British acts are allowed on the show.
Britain’s Got Talent viewers were furious on Saturday after discovering that K-pop band Blitzers were already famous, reigniting a row over the inclusion of international acts.
The South Korean band were one of the acts to take on Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli on Saturday’s episode.
Writing on X, formerly Twitter, they said: “Why do Blitzers claim fame on BGT?” They have already been a singing group according to You Tube. Something is not right’;
‘Since they’re a professional boyband, I guess they should be, I’m a bit fed up with all these professionals going back to basics, where it’s Paul Potts and Susan Boyles etc.’;
‘#BGT is big in Korea and wants to bring it to the UK… hmmm… It sucks that Simon brought them in as his Kpop 1 management’;
‘Were the Blitzers on Britain’s Got Talent last night? What kind of side quest?’;
‘Someone help me understand… Why are there so many acts from other countries on Britains Got Talent?!? I don’t understand! Surely the point of #BGT is for Britain to showcase its talent?!?!? Am I missing something?’;
“They are not British and they are already professionals in South Korea.”
In 2018, a BGT spokesperson explained the inclusion of international acts to MailOnline.
They said: ‘Britain’s Got Talent features a variety of local talent, along with some overseas acts.

It comes after viewers fainted when in episode six Australia’s Messoudi brothers took to the stage to declare they were jugglers.
Head judge Simon Cowell, 63, asked: “Do people like to juggle?” to which his older brother diplomatically responded, “We try to make them like it.”
When the happy music began to play, the brothers began to juggle and exchange clothes.
The duo showed off their impressive skills as they stripped down to their underwear and then redressed, all without dropping a juggling pin.
Things got so heated that Bruno Tonioli, 67, could barely control his excitement as the two men flaunted their bulging biceps and rock-hard abs.
Britain’s Got Talent judges got more than they bargained for in Saturday’s episode when they were shocked by a group of raunchy jugglers.
A pair of handsome men set pulses racing at the London Stadium as they stripped off every inch of their clothing apart from a pair of tight boxers emblazoned with the Union Jack flag.
In response to the performance, Simon joked: “I’ve never seen Bruno so happy in my life.”
Bruno Tonioli was quick to retort and admitted that he enjoyed the striptease, telling the brother: “You’re so easy on the eyes.” I didn’t actually look at whatever you were saying.
After the event, which received four yeses, Amanda Holden, 53, said: “I didn’t think I would feel so relieved if you put your clothes back on.” She was brilliant’ before she cheekily added: ‘I’ll give you some advice though, I feel like you should take your socks off.’
