Lawyers for the scorned wife of hedge fund magnate John Paulson have hit back at his claims that she is “greedy” and said her alleged diversion of funds into secret trusts is the “latest example of spousal abuse.”
Billionaire Paulson filed for divorce from his soon-to-be ex-wife Jenny, 52, in 2021, prompting her to claim he had moved at least $1 billion into secret trusts, according to legal documents seen by DailyMail.com.
The 67-year-old’s legal team said in documents that she is acting out of “greed” and that if the trusts are divided as she demands, the assets would generate “enormous” amounts of taxes, resulting in her two daughters, Giselle, 18, and Danielle, 20, receiving a ‘diluted’ inheritance.
But Jenny’s lawyers hit back, telling DailyMail.com that he should “know what it’s like to be greedy” after filing a new lawsuit accusing her husband of a “bogus purchase” of a luxury penthouse in Puerto Rico for ” unduly enriched” by $10 million at the expense of the trusts.

“Imagine the gall of a man who we allege spends years secretly stealing assets from his wife’s marital estate in advance of a divorce proceeding,” said Robert Cohen, Jenny’s attorney of Cohen Clair Lans Greifer & Simpson. LLP.
He then secretly withdraws funds from the trust he secretly created for his personal purposes to purchase a $20 million condo. But he bought it for only $5 million and apparently hasn’t closed the sale yet.
And then he publicly accuses her of being ‘greedy.’ It’s fair to say: that’s what’s called ‘chutzpah.'”
Legal documents filed on Sept. 21 claim that Paulson purchased the apartment at St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort in 2020 for an artificially low price of $5.6 million from a 2009 family trust that owns the property.
