Allen's Spearmint Leaves Will Hit Stores in August

Australian confectionery brand Allen’s is set to relaunch two iconic candies in its stores nationwide.

Fans will be pleased to know that spearmint leaf packets will hit shelves in August since they quietly disappeared from stores.

The leaf-shaped green gummy often divided opinions for its spearmint flavor that often tastes like toothpaste.

In a surprising twist, the brand also secretly relaunched the beloved Sherbies nationwide for $5 a pack, which is available now.

Australians will remember chewing through the sweet, tangy orange flavor to get to the sorbet-filled centre.

Grocery Geek Australia was one of the first to share the news on Instagram and it sent customers into a frenzy.

Dozens of Australians rejoiced, but it’s clear that most prefer Sherbies to spearmint leaves.

‘So they’re bringing in spearmint leaves but they got rid of Fantales?’ one wrote.

Melanie Chen, Nestlé Oceania’s confectionery marketing director, said the brand is delighted to bring back Allen’s spearmint leaves later this year.

‘We know mint fans love the sweet, chewy flavor of spearmint leaves, as well as being a favorite garnish among bakers. Plus, it’s vegan-friendly!’ she said.

‘Allen’s Spearmint Leaves will be available exclusively at Woolworths and independent supermarkets, so get it quick.

‘We also have some sweet bonus news today: Allen’s Sherbies are now back in their own bag! The first bite of chewy orange with its sorbet sachet is ready and waiting for chewy popsicle lovers. “It is now available at major retailers in 150g for $5.”

Earlier this year in January, fans were stunned after discovering the real taste of Allen’s Snake Popsicles.

A conversation started on TikTok when comedian Tanya Hennessy shared the “distressing news” with her 339,000 followers.

While most people think of obvious answers, the orange snake’s flavor is apricot and the green snake’s flavor is zesty lemon. Other flavors include strawberry, blackberry and pineapple.

The realization left Tanya and hundreds of others “mind-blown.”
