AN AFL WAG has come under fire after posting a bizarre rant about Christmas tree decorations online.
Tayla Broad, 28, took to TikTok over the weekend to complain about her daughter Samara’s skills at decorating the family Christmas tree.
In the bizarre rant, Tayla, wife of Richmond star Nathan Broad, claimed her one-year-old son won’t go near the tree while the family prepares it for the festive season.
“There are mothers who film the Christmas tree setup with their children, and I really admire them because there is no way my son is touching my Christmas tree,” the former Love Island Australia contestant began in her video.
“She’s asleep and I’ve set it up exactly how I want it and she won’t, she won’t help until she’s of the age where she knows the location because until then, no, don’t touch my Christmas tree.”
Some of Tayla’s followers appreciated the funny side of the WAG’s post, but many fans disagreed with her statement.
In the comments of the video, many detractors criticized Tayla for her Christmas tree rule.
‘This is so sad… some of the best memories I have are with my mom, decorating the Christmas tree… also recreating these memories with my own children – priceless!!’ said one commenter.

“There are mothers who film the Christmas tree assembly with their children, and I really admire them because there is no way my son will touch my Christmas tree,” the former Love Island Australia contestant began in her video.
“Imagine caring more about how a Christmas tree looks than creating magic and memories with your little daughter… today’s society is screwed,” said another.
One more wrote: ‘This is very disturbing. I have the best memories of making the tree as a child, with my mother and sisters taking turns each year making the star. Life is too short for this.’
However, some supported Tayla’s choice, saying they could relate to wanting a tree that looked well put together.
Some of Tayla’s followers appreciated the funny side of the WAG’s post, but many fans disagreed with her statement.
‘Oh, I’m so sorry about this. “I have bought my children their own trees for their rooms so they don’t touch mine,” one advocate wrote.
‘There are so many ways to create magic and memories. I have two trees, one in my main living room that the kids can’t touch and then their tree. Children find it funny. I’m a tree snob. And as if everything was well placed,” wrote another.
Tayla and Nathan, who tied the knot in October 2022, welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Samara, in August.
