Worker Todd Retallack was working on the roof of a McIntosh & Son machinery dealership in Katanning, 275km south-east of Perth, when he fell at around 9.40am. Western Australia reported.

He was taken to Katanning Hospital and then airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital, where he died.

His teammates at Boxwood Hill Football Club remembered Mr Retallack for his “cheeky smile, easy-going attitude and love of life”.

“On behalf of Boxwood Hills Football Club, the supporters, the community and the surrounding districts, our hearts go out to his friends and the Retallack family,” said Boxwood Hill Football Club Chairman Shane Davy.

“We are here to help you get through this tragic time.”

Just hours after the accident in Katanning, a truck driver was crushed to death by a power plant that ran over him while he was working below in Narrikup, about 400 kilometres south-east of Perth.

The 45-year-old man died at the scene.
