Radio host Ray Hadley hit Sonny Bill Williams with a scorching spray after the former football star shared a post by social media influencer Andrew Tate, accused of rape, in the wake of the stabbing of a Sydney bishop on Monday at night.
Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel was preaching at Christ the Good Shepherd Church in Wakeley, in Sydney’s west, on Monday shortly after 7pm when a 16-year-old boy dressed in black approached the altar and allegedly stabbed several times.
Footage of the attack quickly circulated on social media, with Williams, 38, sharing it from Tate’s X account as the influencer linked the stabbing to comments Bishop Emmanuel had allegedly made about the war between Israel and Gaza.
Hadley unleashed on the former NRL and All Blacks star turned Channel Nine football commentator on Wednesday morning, saying he has a “brain the size of a cumquat” and lashing out at his stupidity for sharing the post.

“I don’t know how this guy has remained an employee of the network that employs me,” Hadley began.
“This is their lack of knowledge of world affairs, let alone what is happening in western Sydney.”
Hadley then read the Daily Mail Australia story before telling her listeners: “If you don’t know Andrew Tate, apparently he’s a hero to a lot of young people, he’s a misogynist, he lives somewhere in Romania and he can’t leave.”
“He is in Romania with his brother facing trial for rape, human trafficking and forming an organized crime group to sexually exploit women.
He’s the kind of person you want to retweet.
“So this guy, Tate, from Romania, very far from Wakeley, sees the images and then posts something that has been retweeted by Sonny Bill Williams.
Tate’s message (pictured) baselessly linked the stabbing to Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel’s alleged stance on Israel’s war in Gaza.

Hadley said the former NRL and All Blacks star (pictured playing for the Bulldogs) has a “brain the size of a cumquat”, and it’s not the first time he has lashed out at the Nine commentator.
‘Sonny Bill, with a brain the size of a cumquat, reposted and says “praying for your full recovery,” along with an open palm emoji.
“So you think Tate is right in describing the bishop as anti-Zionist… One day, Sonny Bill, be useful if you can get someone to pick up the newspaper and read it to you.”
This is not the first time Hadley has criticized Williams.
In October last year he called the devout Muslim a “lunatic” for supporting Hamas’ attack on Israel.
“Like I said, if the brain were dynamite, Sonny Bill Williams wouldn’t blow his ears off,” the 2GB star said.
“It’s embarrassing for me and others associated with this radio and television network he works for, and I think the CEO of the company should review his job prospects.”
