The Marvel actor, 27, who will play Romeo, will take to the stage at London’s Duke of York Theater for a 12-week run next month after tickets sold out just two hours after going on sale in February.
Fans compared the stress of trying to get tickets on par with Taylor Swift’s Eras tour, which has grossed $1.04 billion with 4.35 million tickets sold across 60 tour dates.
A source said Mirror on the transfer: “Romeo and Juliet will head to Broadway following its London run, with details to be announced in due course.”
“While director Jamie Lloyd has made a name for himself for his minimalist adaptations of classic texts, the protagonist of what is essentially another production of Romeo and Juliet is undoubtedly his protagonist.”

It comes after the production, which also stars Francesca Amewudah-Rivers as Juliet, faced a “barrage of deplorable racial abuse” following the announcement of the diverse cast.
A statement from the theater company on Friday denounced the shocking reaction and promised to “continue to support and protect everyone at our company.”
The Jamie Lloyd Company shared: “Following the announcement of our Romeo and Juliet cast, there has been a barrage of deplorable online racial abuse directed at a member of our company. This must stop.
‘We are working with a remarkable group of artists. We insist that you are free to create work without online harassment.
‘We will continue to support and protect everyone in our company at all costs. “No abuse will be tolerated and will be reported.”
He continued: ‘Bullying and harassment have no place online, neither in our industry nor in our communities at large.

Also in the cast are Freema Agyeman, Michael Balogun, Tomiwa Edun, Mia Jerome, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Ray Sesay, Nima Taleghani, Joshua-Alexander Williams, Callum Heinrich and Kody Mortimer.

Tom made his theater debut as a child when he starred in Billy Elliot The Musical at London’s Victoria Palace Theater in 2008.
Romeo and Juliet will mark his first West End role as an adult.
Shakespeare’s epic is a story that has been performed hundreds of times in the West End and The Crown actor Josh O’Connor and Irish star Jessie Buckley appeared in a version of the play, filmed for television inside the National Theater in 2021.
Other actors who have played Romeo on stage include Harry Potter star Alfred Enoch, Lord of the Rings actor Sir Ian McKellen, Game of Thrones’ Sean Bean and Bodyguard actor Richard Madden.
