Anthony Joshua has named his favorite in the boxing ring in a potential fight between iconic expert duo Roy Keane and Micah Richards.
Former world heavyweight champion Joshua will continue his quest to return to the top of the boxing world when he takes on Francis Ngannou on Friday, March 8.
However, Joshua took the time to weigh in on his favorite name if legendary Man United captain Keane and former City star Richards meet in the ring.
The duo were at the Etihad to cover City’s 3-1 derby win over United and discussed the possibility of fighting each other in a future boxing match after Joshua gave his verdict.
‘It’s a great question, let’s look at the history of the tapes, shall we? So we’ve got Micah Richards, the big guy, who looks like a solid, natural heavyweight,” he said.

“But from a point of view where we are talking about Roy Keane, the one, the man who deals with that smoke, with that life, I think he has also had a bit of amateur experience.
‘If I had to toss a coin I’d probably say it would land on Micah, but you know, a coin just bounces around, gets tossed a few times and lands on Roy Keane again.
“I would probably say Roy Keane will do the job,” Joshua added.
But Keane, 52, rejected Joshua’s prediction and humbly backed Richards to beat him, saying: “I wish I could believe what he said, I think Micah would take me very, very easily.”
Richards chimed in and added: ‘How much do you weigh? She was 16 and a half kilos, appropriate heavy weight. I would eat you for lunch.
Keane responded by revealing that he was four stone lighter than Richards and again tipped him to win a potential in-ring match, saying: “I weigh about 12 and a half stone, you would be the favourite.”
Richards ended the exchange by putting a future showdown in Keane’s court. “It’s up to you,” he said before explaining that he would fight Wayne Rooney first.
Joshua is set to fight Francis Ngannou in an upcoming heavyweight fight in Saudi Arabia.
Social media was flooded with even more reactions, but some viewers weren’t too impressed, as one post on to throw myself into the sun.
Another user commented: ‘Roy is my favorite and he will win.’
