South Korean girl group Stayc’s J has generated some online chatter in recent months after appearing curvier during several live performances.
Her apology sparked a strong reaction both nationally and internationally, with most people stating that her weight gain was not only minimal, but also flattering.
‘I feel so bad for her. Apology culture is terrible. Poor girl apologizing for being healthy…’ wrote one fan.
‘I should be on a diet, not her. She’s already very thin!!!’ another wrote.
A third added: “That’s so unnecessary.” She is perfect just the way she is, there is no need to apologize.
“You don’t look fat at all and you look prettier than when you were skinny,” chimed in a fourth fan.

The K-pop veteran, who was just 15 years old when she debuted on the music scene, said she survived by eating sushi to keep her weight at 88 pounds (40 kg).
‘Back then, I survived on a single piece of kimbap while doing all the scheduled activities. And that destroyed me. At 26 I was already very sick,” she revealed in B-Season.
