Furious fans told Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to sell the team after their humiliating 47-9 loss to the Detroit Lions.
Jones, a billionaire who bought the team in 1989, was celebrating his 82nd birthday on Sunday but watched at AT&T Stadium as his Cowboys team was destroyed.
In a game that was marred by a gruesome injury to Lions star Aidan Hutchinson, Detroit dominated on the road as the Cowboys lost their fourth straight home game.
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, who signed a four-year contract extension worth more than $240 million this summer, threw two interceptions and no touchdown passes.
The Cowboys’ chances of making the playoffs already look slim now and Sunday’s one-sided loss was the final straw for many fans.

‘I really want Jerry Jones to see the Dallas Cowboys as someone who REALLY knows how to make football decisions. Dak has done NOTHING to deserve the record money! God and McCarthy should have been fired 2 seasons ago!’ wrote another.
Speaking after the match, Jones admitted his team’s performance was “very worrying” and “very humiliating”. He also called it “a surprise.”
