Injured American defender Sergiño Dest has signed a four-year contract to remain with Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven, ending his tenure at Barcelona.
ESPN reports that Barca will receive a percentage of any future transfer deal for Dest, whose previous deal was set to expire after the 2024-25 campaign.
Details of Dest’s new deal have not been disclosed.
Dest already knows PSV after spending the previous season on loan at the club.
The full-back scored two goals in 25 league games and 37 appearances in total before tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in training on April 20, an injury that required surgery and will see him miss the start of the 2024-25 season.

The 23-year-old had already made it clear that he hoped to stay at PSV.
“PSV is very satisfied with me and I am enjoying myself here,” he told reporters in April, as quoted by Goal‘We are doing well as a team, we are close to being champions and next year we will play in the Champions League.’
He added: “Everything has to be right and it’s up to us to fix everything to reach a good agreement.”
Dest has two goals in 33 international appearances and started all four of the United States’ matches at the 2022 World Cup.
He is currently out of the current Copa América.
“Unfortunately, I tore my ACL,” Dest said in a video posted in April on They make me stronger.”
He had been a regular starter under American coach Gregg Berhalter.
Joe Scally has replaced Dest in Berhalter’s lineup.
The United States will face a Uruguay on a roll in a must-win game on Monday at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
