However, the DJ, who has hosted Going Home with Jordan, 34, since 2021, admitted her disappointment at not being able to give a “proper on-air farewell” before her abrupt exit.

She wrote: “Absolutely gutted to be honest. Our @jordannorth1 you are a true @bbcradio1 legend, a dream co-host and an incredibly special friend. There are too many memories for these collages, but what a laugh we had.’

‘Thank you for sharing your wit and your warmth; your stories, your skill and your spirit. Coming home to Vick and Jordan has been such a crazy, chaotic journey.’

She continued, “I’ve loved being on this journey with you for a while, and I will always support and encourage you as you embark on the next chapter.”

‘You’re about to fly, everyone will love you as much as we do, just take care of yourself there. And let the melodies keep coming.’

“I’m really sad that we didn’t get a proper send-off on the air, but I guess (inadvertently, accidentally, and appropriately) killing Judge Jordan this week will have to serve as a send-off on the radio.”

Before adding: ‘To our listeners, thank you for joining us every day and being the heart and soul of the show. Let’s welcome the lovely and brilliant @jamielaing with open arms and may we all have a great time together.”

Following Jordan’s big announcement, it was revealed that Jamie Laing, 35, will take his place, Monday to Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., alongside Vick.

The presenter quit after a decade at the broadcaster to reportedly replace Roman Kemp as host of Capital Breakfast.

Jordan has since taken to Instagram to thank his 834,000 followers for their positive reaction to the news.

Sharing an album of snaps from his time at the station, Jordan captioned his update: “Hello everyone.”

But not all fans were happy after the announcement, as some fled to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their displeasure.

One of them wrote: ‘Why do the good guys always leave?’

“I really hope this was your decision @jordannorth1 and that it means bigger things to you – we love you and will miss you so much xx.”

Roman will reportedly leave Capital Radio after seven years of presenting the channel’s breakfast show alongside Chris Stark and Siân Welby.

According to sources, Jordan will replace Roman.

Insiders revealed to The Sun that Jordan had signed a huge deal with the rival station.

The source said: ‘Jordan is moving to Capital FM to replace Roman and he couldn’t be more excited. It’s absolutely huge for him and, although he finds it difficult to leave the BBC, he is excited to start at Capital.

“Jordan’s decision has been a difficult pill to swallow for the BBC, but there was nothing they could do to change his mind.”

MailOnline has contacted Jordan, Roman and Capital for comment.
